Merry Late Christmas!

(I apologize for the unoriginal title!)

How was your Christmas? Mine was great! I spent it with my parents, sister, and grandparents.

On Christmas Eve Eve, we went to see the snow in Celebration(yes, they have a fake snowfall every night, it's pretty cool!) which my grandparents had never done. We got pizza there and watched the snow.

On Christmas Eve, we spent the night roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire, which was very nice, and Christmas-y:)

We actually slept in on Christmas morning, we didn't end up getting up til nine O'clock. We all exchanged gifts, and it was as fun as usual:) Me and Mina got Allstar Weekend tickets, which we had heard we were getting about a month ago(can't wait for February 9th!!!) from our parents, and I also got(from them) two Allstar Weekend shirts, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 on DVD, and lots and lots of candy!

What did you get for Christmas? COMMENT:)

My Obsession With Alice

A lot of people don't understand my obsession with Alice in Wonderland. I'm not even sure I quite understand it, I just love it so much.

Maybe it's the childhood memories I have of watching it. I've loved it since I was really little.
Maybe it's because me and Alice are a lot alike. I'm very, very curios like her, and I like to understand things.

But, I think the most probable reason would be because of it's whimsicality. I like how it doesn't make much sense, but yet it does. It would seem that it's all nonsense, but if you look closer, you can see a lot of wit and meaning.

When I tell people I love Alice in Wonderland, they usually assume I mean the new version.
I liked the new version(mainly because of Johnny Depp), but to me, it didn't do the Alice books and movie enough justice. Though there were a few things in this version that were more similar to the books, I just think it was too dark to really showcase what kind of picture Lewis Carroll was trying to paint.

I really enjoy the Alice books, because of their wit, and really great characters.

When I say I love Alice in Wonderland though, I mean I love the cartoon. It's bright colors, and goofy characters seem to really showcase Lewis  Carroll's books more than any other.

I just have a never-ending love for it. When someone quotes the movie, I smile. If I see anything related to it, I want to get it. I watch the cartoon all the time, and I love the books. My top 3 characters from the cartoon?

Number 1 would most obviously have to be the Cheshire Cat! He's just so, so whimsical, funny, and happy. He knows how to have a good time! (Also, I love Sterling Holloway's voice! He also did Pooh Bear and Kaa from the Jungle Book.)

Number 2 would have to be the Mad Hatter! He is so funny and innocent. Plus, who doesn't love the Unbirthday Song?! (He is voiced by Ed Wynn, who also has a VERY distinct, very cool, voice!)

Number 3 would be Tweedledee and Tweedledum(yes, they count as one!). I love their story they tell, The Walrus and The Carpenter:) They are so cute!

So, yes, people think I'm weird for obsessing over Alice, but I love it soooo much and I can't help it:)

Do you like Alice in Wonderland? What cartoons/books/movies are your guilty pleasures? COMMENT:)

The Day I Had Been Waiting For, For Like, Months...

Was yesterday! Yes, meeting, interviewing, and watching Kicking Daisies:D Let me tell you all about it( don't have the pictures loaded yet, but I will put them up ASAP. And also, the interview video link is at the bottom of this page.)

We went, of course, with my friend Sonya, who is a huge fan, as I am:) We first went to Taco Bell and Downtown Disney, then went over to Celebration, where the concert and interview would take place.

As we were walking on Market Street, we saw Ben, the super nice, super talented lead guitarist of the band, at the merch table, so we went up and said hello, and gave him the cookies we had made them. He recognized us right away, and commented on our KD shirts, and how much he loves our KD Fan Blog. We talked with him, until he had to go tune up. At the merch table, I got a KD glow in the dark bracelet, and a Duran pin:)

We walked around for awhile, until Carly, Duran, and Caitlin were ready for the interview. CLICK HERE TO VIEW PLEASE:D We had so much fun interviewing them, they were all so nice, funny, and down-to-earth. <3 We got some pictures, then they had to go do a soundcheck.

We watched their soundcheck, and it was almost like a private concert, with 2 songs;) It was awesome:)

We waited around for about 5 hours, 'til the concert started. Shealeigh and CoCo Jones opened for them. Shealeigh was good, but I can't say I liked Coco:p We got to be in the VIP section so we were super close to the stage, and super pumped. Me, Mina, Sonya, and our 2 new friends we met at the concert, got the whole crowd cheering "KD! KD! KD!". It was an awesome, exhilerating few minutes leading up to their performance. From behind the stage, Ben, smiled and waved to me, and he looked super pumped, excited, and ready to perform.:)

Despite a few minor sound issues(which was not KD's fault), the concert was amazing as ever. I expect nothing less of KD though:) I got the whole thing on video, and since I was in the front row, it came out really good. Being that close was really cool, and the concert was just awesome. We had so much fun singing, dancing, and screaming as we watched our fav band perform.Carly even threw us a KD T-shirt, which Mina caught and is wearing right now:)

All in all, it was an amazing day, and most certainly the best day of my life. Please, please, check out our interview here, and tell me what you think!!!:D

Much Love,

A Post From A Homeschooled Weirdo

I ususally try to refrain from telling people I'm homeschooled right away when I meet them. It can definitely make people judge and take you for something your not, ex. a nerd, anti-social, a geek, ect. ect.

Even though homeschooling is becoming more and more popular, let's face it, if you're a homeschooler, most other kids/teenagers will look at you differently. Sure, the adults/old people automatically love homeschoolers, because we're so "Well behaved and adjusted.", but let's be honest, how much does that actually mean to homeschooled teens? Not much. Actually, it's kind of embarassing when people go around talking about homeschoolers, and how we're so "smart and behaved".

And I'm not saying there isn't any advantages to being a homeschooler, I wouldn't have it any other way. Actually, I'm technically out of school now anyway, but I'm still tagged as a homeschooler because if I went to public school, I'd still be in school right now. But anyway, there are tons of advantages of being a homeschooler, like for instance, the curriculum I used only took me an hour and a half a day at the most, and then I was done. Pretty sweet. But there are still some weird things about being homeschooled. People are weird and stupid about homeschoolers, and some act like we're from another planet or something.

The first question an un-educated adult mind asks about homeschoolers is, "Do they have social time?" or "Are they involved with other kids their age?". Gimme a break, no, we lock ourselves up in our house and never come out. Even other teenagers and kids ask that kind of stuff too, like here are two real-life, classic responses to my telling another kid I'm homeschooled:

"Really? Wow, I would hate not having any friends!"

and...

"So what, you sit around your house all day?"

I'm sure those responses would make anyone feel good!

Sometimes I just wanna scream, "I'M A NORMAL TEENAGER! I'M NOT AN EINSTEIN, I HAVE FRIENDS, I GO OUT AND DO THINGS, AND I HAVE A LIFE!". But, of course, I realize that the only reason people react this way to homeschoolers is because they are un-educated on the subject, and aren't really sure what to think of homeschoolers. Not that that makes it any less frustrating. It still is.

To tell you the truth, I think the reason we get such a bad rep. is from some of these homeschool parents that raise their kids to be weirdos. Don't get me wrong, I've had and have lots of nice homeschool friends, but I've known a lot of weirdo ones too. Since none of the "weirdo's" read my blog,  I'm not afraid to tell you about them. It's just that, a lot of the homeschooled kids that I've known, and that I do know, just...I don't know, they seem to think that kids that go to school are aliens or something, or even worse, that they themselves are better than kids who go to school. To be honest, a lot of the homeschoolers I know don't like me because I hang out with public school-ers. Which I think is really messed up. I don't think that we should ever think that we are better than someone else, which goes for both sides. Homeschoolers should accept kids who go to public school and vice versa. Correction, they shouldn't just accept them, we should all be able to be friends. But, unfortunately, until homeschooling becomes more known, it's hard for us all to accept each other.

But, it is always nice when you can actually find someone that accepts you even though you are a homeschooler, and I'm lucky to have many awesome public-schooled friends who don't care whether I go to school or not:)

Thanksgiving+Christmas Decorating+Early Presents= A Lot of Pictures!

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Mine was superb:) I had dinner with my sis, parents, grandparents, and our friend Jason, then spent that night with them and also my friends Tami and Justin. We had delicious food, which included my 3 favorites, turkey, cheesecake, and pumpkin pie! Here are the pictures I got:
The beautiful table setting:) Pumpkin pie and gingerbread men...yum:)(The dates on all these photo's are wrong by the way...)

Me, Mina, and Grandma decorated these:) My Grandma's Gingerbread recipe is THE BEST!

My plate of delicious food! Those colored things in my cup are my Grandma's awesome flavored ice cubes!

Off to the backyard to play some Ladder Golf! Me and Jason.

It's a tradition in our family to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, so on the 25th, we went and cut down this beautiful tree:

Our lovely tree before we decorated it! Oh, and me:)

The tree with just the one set of lights on, and Mina putting on the skirt.

My precious pup Bing and the lights:)

The finished tree! We ended up using over 600 lights!

Our snow village is another Christmas tradition:) Mina did this years town.

So are you ready to hear what me and Mina's early Christmas gift from Jason and Tami is???

                                                                              Kittens!!!

Their cat had kittens and we each got one!!! Aren't they adorable?!

My cat Sugar, she is such a sweetheart!

Mina's cat Lover Boy! He got his name because I discovered he has a patch of fur on his back shaped exactly like a heart!

What a great present!

How have your holidays been? COMMENT and let me know:)

Looking Forward To...

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been kind of lacking on post ideas., *horrified gasps from the readers* but never fear, there's always something going on with me worthy of posting. *giant sigh of relief*

Lately, it seems all I can think about is concerts. Why? Well...

For one, my second(but first in-person) interview with Kicking Daisies is coming up when they come down to Florida on December 10th. Last week, it was confirmed by their tour manager that we will indeed be doing it, so I've been a happy girl:)
Does anyone have any ideas of interesting questions I could ask them? I would be very happy if you shared some with me.

So, the second concert on my mind is a...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Allstar Weekend concert!

That's right folks, I told my parents all I wanted for Christmas was tickets to see them again, so they ordered me some, and I will be going with my sis on February 9th, at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney! There, we're also going to see Hollywood Ending, another band I really like, and might possibly, hopefully, get an interview with them.(Hollywood Ending of course; not Allstar Weekend)

(If you've never heard Hollywood Ending, you should click here to hear their song, "You Got Me", it's very good and reminds me of Allstar Weekend!)

Of course, I'm also thinking of Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays. I can't wait to dig into that turkey and pumpkin pie! I also love getting up and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Also, I hate football, but I'm excited because Big Time Rush will be singing the national anthem at one of the T-Day games this year! I'll be tuned in;)

Ooh, another thing I'm excited about, and I hope you will be too, is me and my sister's channel has gone completely Christmas for the Holiday season, we will be posting all holiday-themed videos, and have changed our page look for the season! Please click here and check it out! Tell me what you think!

What are you looking forward to this year? COMMENT:)

Here We Go...

What a task; to sit down and write my own life story.

I have decided to do this because I feel that if the readers know more about my past, they will know more about me and who I am today. I'm also doing it to step out of my comfort zone, I'm usually not inclined to talking about my past.

I could give you a bunch of boring facts about the day I was born, how many pounds I was, and things like that, but I want to do this from my own point of view and from my own memories rather than what people have told me about my early years. So, I will start from where I remember, which was when I was about three or four, I guess. I grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, so I was pretty much a city girl. My dad was a pastor at Calvary Chapel, he had preached at other places before that, but I can only remember from Calvary Chapel on. I don't have a whole lot of memory from Calvary, but I have a few of my dad taking me up on stage with him while he preached, runnning around the church building, and playing with other little girls there. But that was where my "real church" memories ended, because around this time, my dad felt that this was not what he was supposed to be doing. Why should he get payed to tell people about God's word? And where in the New Testament does it say that you must get dressed up and go to a big building to worship God? Didn't Jesus come and die for our sins to live within us, and not in a building? These thoughts are what led my dad to house church. Just a small group of friends gathered to talk about God's word. Isn't that how it was in the New Testament?

So, from here on we have done house church. I find it loads more fun and personal then going to a "regular church".  We have definitely met in some interesting places in the past, such as an old vacuum store, and the junkiest motel you have ever seen. But for the most part we met in our house, someone else's house, or at the park(which was always my favorite place to meet as a kid!).

We also housed, many, many guests during this time, in fact, I don't really have any childhood memories when we didn't have someone living with us! It never really bothered me though, they were always adults that sort of just minded their own business.

My childhood life would pretty much be considered an easy one. My mother was scared to send me and my sister off to school when the time came, so we were homeschooled from Kindergarten on. My parents worked part time hours so they could do things with us, like taking us to Disney World every week. Life was good, until one night when my parents asked us how we would like to have two more sisters. They told us they were thinking of taking in two third cousins who had had a very bad home life, and needed a place to stay. I was nine at the time, and couldn't stand the thought of sharing my family, I was used to having guests, but not little kids that would need my parents attention and take away from mine, so I bawled and begged them not to go through with it. Of course, now I realize that I was being very selfish, but I was only nine.

Much to my dismay, my parents decided to go through with this, and our life became a very jumbled, confusing mess. We were visited by social workers that would inspect the house and ask me and my sister questions that I didn't understand. My parents were in a constant custody battle in court, against the girls mother. I got even more upset once I met the girls that we might be getting custody over. Kendra, who was 4 at the time, was the most wild, crazy kid I had ever met. I couldn't imagine living in the same house with her. Mackenzie was 2, and wouldn't way a word to me, so I was convinced that she didn't like me, and would be miserable at our house. The girls continued to come and visit us. I became scared and confused at all of this, and I just wanted my life to go back to the way it was. My perfect little life in which there was never any troubles.

Well, I got what I wanted for a short time. The court never got back to us on the girls for a while, and I started feeling good for awhile. Music started to become a big part of my life at this time. I started playing the piano with myself as a teacher, and started singing non-stop. But that didn't last for long, because soon, after a few more visits to the court from my parents, I was told we got custody of the girls. That very night, they came over, and trouble started right away. Kendra completely destroyed my room and didn't calm down the whole entire night. I cried as soon as I got away from them, and kept crying all night long. I wished them away and asked my parents how they could do this to me.

The next few weeks that followed were horrible. I was convinced that Kendra hated me, even though I did everything in my power to make her happy, I set up games and crafts and gave all my attention to her, but she was never satisfied and always had something nasty to say to me. The only person she liked in our family was my dad. She even once told me she wished everyone in the world would die but her and my dad. I cryed my eyes out everyday, and asked God why she hated me so much, and what I ever did to her to deserve it. I realize now that she probably didn't hate me, she had just had a very tough life, and life isn't always fair, you're not gonna get repayed for all the good things you do for others. You can't expect to be repayed for doing God's will, except for when we die. Of course, I didn't think about these things then, and all I wanted was for life to go back to normal.

Gradually, things got a little bit better, but I still couldn't see a bright side to the story coming anytime soon. I still cryed and wished Kendra away, and she still didn't appreciate everything I did for her. And whenever my parents weren't around she would tell me and my sister how she wished we would die, and how much she hated us. But slowly my parents started punishing her more, and she started learning the ways of our home a little more. She still didn't like me, but she eventually stopped wishing death on me. Mackenzie was always fine from the beginning, quiet at first, but a really nice kid, the kind you couldn't help but like. She rarely gave us any trouble. I don't think there ever was a time that Kendra wasn't trouble(my nickname for her behind her back was "Little Nightmare"), so I enjoyed the few days I got a break from her. Me and my sister would go to stay at my grandparents house Sunday night, and stay all day Monday, and those days became my favorite days of the week.

Life went on with Little Nightmare and Mackenzie as it always did. I decided to take piano lessons from a teacher, and started with a lady named Ms. Rubinchik. She was completely horrible. My very first lesson she wouldn't let me look at my hands while I played and discouraged me beyond belief. I had given up on piano when I came across Ms. Betty at Taco Bell. She came over to tell us what a lovely family we were(as lovely as you can be with Little Nightmare in your family, I thought) and it turns out she was a piano teacher, so I started to go to her. Music became important to me, and a huge part of my life was spent playing and singing.

What I didn't know was another big change was coming our way. My dad took just me and my sister to Disney World on this particular day, and told us that the next day we were going to go look at mobile homes. Of course, we asked why, and he said it was because we were seriously considering putting a trailer on our Mamaw and Papaw's property, in which they were renting out to my uncle, about an hour and a half away from us, in a little town called Nobleton. I was completely shocked. I had been to Nobleton many times, but I couldn't imagine living in such a tiny little town. The guests at Disney must have thought it was pretty weird to see two 8 and 10 year old girls sniffling and wiping away tears in the middle of Epcot.

So, the next few months were spent visiting Nobleton, making plans, and looking at mobile homes(or manafactured homes if you prefer) until we finally found the one we wanted. I thought it was quite weird as I watched our future home being moved onto the lot. Soon we were packing up the last of our things and moving into a friends vacation home they had in Nobleton for awhile. We there stayed until the electricty in the trailer was turned on, which was almost a month later.

I started to enjoy Nobleton more than I thought I would. Me, Mina, LN, Mackenzie, and our cousins that lived behind us, Cali and Luke, would all play together. For awhile, I was still going down to St. Pete for my piano lessons, but I became really tired of driving down there once a week, and just decided to stop. Soon after I completely forgot about missing St. Pete, and I was really enjoying Nobleton. I started to make friends in the area, which was something I didn't really have a lot of in St. Pete, and I slowly started becoming used to the area and enjoyed it a lot. We were right by Croom, the state forest, and I loved hiking there. We were also by the 40 mile paved bike trail, and I enjoyed biking on it. Believe it or not, from there I decided I never wanted to go back to St. Pete!

Shortly after the move, we started having worse trouble with Kendra and Mackenzie. The court wanted them to visit with their parents more and more, and we had found that they just became worse whenever they were around their mother, and it became an issue. Social workers started coming back again. Life started becoming topsy-turvy again.Eventually, we decided as a family we couldn't put up with it anymore, and we were overjoyed to hear there was a couple with two kids of their own that wanted custody over the girls. So we met them, and spent a lot of time with them, until finally it was decided by the court the girls would live with them.

Life seemed so peaceful after they left. I could finally stop worrying about "Little Nightmare" and I found all the attention on me and Mina felt good. We continued to live in that same house until January of this year, more problems arose. Our Uncle Nate needed a place to live and we started having other family issues as well, so my parents told me and my sister that we were to move into my grandparents house, which was about 4 blocks from our house. They only use this house temporarily, until they sell their house in St. Pete and can move to Nobleton perminently. I was upset about it at first, but I have found now that I love living there, we have a finger to the river in our backyard that we like to swim and kayak in, and me and my sister have a huge room upstairs to ourselves.

I guess my life has always been unpredictable, and certainly a crazy ride. But I can't complain:)

November is Here!

Can you believe it?! I love the month of November, the weather is so nice, and of course I love Thanksgiving:) But, getting on track here, I promised pictures from our Halloween party, and I have a whole bunch more pictures from our Disney stay with Nicki and Alyssa! We had so much fun, we actually got to do something I've always dreamt of, we stayed in the Disney's Contemporary Resorts Bay Lake Towers, one of the coolest Disney Resorts there is! Us four girls got a room all to ourselves! You know what else I have pictures from? THE NIGHT RANGER CONCERT!!! It was my third time seeing them, and it was just as amazing as ever! They are so talented and are some of my rock heroes, and definitely my favorite classic rock band. The feeling you get at a loud, guitar screaming, drum crashing concert, is undescrible. Mina laughed at me when I described it as "Walking away feeling exilerated and refreshed" but it's so true! I felt so excited:) Okay, anyway picture time!(BTW, if there's dates on the pictures, my crappy computer did that, those are not the right dates!)

Me in my Halloween costume at the party, I was a candy corn:)

Everyone that came dressed to the party. Sadly not everyone did. From left: Chris as Jason, Mina as a convict, me as a candy corn, Justin as Scream, Sonya as a sorceress, and Jason as a member of the Geek Squad;)

At the hotel. From left; Me, Alyssa, Mina, and Nicki:)

Nicki and Mina on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

Lys on Buzz. SHE BEAT ME:O Grrrrr, lol jk;)

                                                               Cinderella's Castle!

The view of the Castle from our exclusive rooftop area at the resort

Strawberry scented Lotso Huggin' Bear! Mina was obviously being goofy for the camera, but Lys had no idea I was taking this photo:D

In front of the Tower of Terror :D

                                                                 NIGHT RANGER!!!

I got this picture when they came out into the audience:D

                                                                The amazing Brad Gillis!

                                                         Kelly!!!:DDD Such an amazing singer!

Jack Blades(I love that name, I mean, how cool of a last name is Blades?!?!)

Ha ha, this pic is me trying to get us all in the shot!

The end to our fun, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, concert day:) Love you guys!

Hope you enjoyed! Please please comment:P

Get Ready To LOL

Ever wondered what Justin would look like as a girl?

Halloween Party:)

So, last night, from 7:00 pm to about 12:00 am we had a fun Halloween party! We danced, ate lots of candy, and played a really fun game called murderer in the dark.

Some of the guests came dressed up. I went as a piece of candy corn, and Mina dressed as a convict.

For the actual day of Halloween tomorrow, we are going to Orlando, to Epcot and Downtown Disney.

I'm going to post the pictures from the party ASAP.

Sonya's 1st Disney Trip!

I told you I would get you pictures from my friend Sonya's first trip to Disney World, and I did! Wanna hear some good news? Her parents decided to let her get a seasonal pass! So now she is an official member of our weekly Disney club:)

We took Sonya, along with our other Disney Club members Jason and Tami, to Magic Kingdom and Epcot on Thursday (That's the only day I have pictures from) then stayed at the Ramada Inn that night, and went to Hollywood Studios on Friday. We got to do a lot of the things we wanted to do.
